Design Basic Principles

The main principle on which this project is based is the user's maximum safety and comfort possible in any conditions.

It was initially supposed that the catamaran will be certificated as a class C boat.

We believe that this boat's safety parameters should considerably exceed the ones demanded by certification. This is due to the fact that weather conditions at sea or a large lake can change very fast for the worse which always poses a threat even for a skilled crew.

One of the basic principles for us is high static stability that provides for the safety of the crew in all cases.

So the STM 4700 SportFun catamaran is a very steady platform. It has fuller nose contours to make wave climbing easier at low speed and the "four points of support" for increased stability at gliding on high speed.

Stability Test Results:

The catamaran careen with seven passengers moving on one board does not exceed 10 degrees.

Floatability Test Results:

After complete flooding (including space between the deck and the hull sections, and the cockpit filled to the brim, loading of 7 persons + engine (190 kg) + fuel (60 kg) + accumulator (20 kg) + extra cargo (20 kg) the catamaran is steadily afloat, being underwater up to the fender bar. The emergency buoyancy (foamed polyurethane) volume in the deck section is not less than 600 litres.
